Marigold is an ordinary Young Lady of a respectable household, simply more curious and prone to questioning the world around her than most. And the more she looks, the more she sees just how vast the chasm between perception and reality is.

Marigold is not a cold-blooded tyrant that would murder a sibling for succession;

nor a demon worshipper plotting to resurrect the evil god;

nor a mastermind planning to conquer the continent from the shadows;

nor a saint heralding the end of all evil.

Marigold simply wished to learn magic. Instead, she got tricked into learning ontology, epistemology and a whole bunch more nonsense that has gotten her not a single step closer to shooting fireballs or summoning demons. And yet the world moves on around her, and the people misunderstand her however they damn well please.

This is a slow-burn, unreliable narrator, slice of life chronicle about the laws holding up this world from the perspective of a callous and impulsive- pardon, nonchalant and free-spirited protagonist, who seems to gain power and influence without really meaning to.
