Who can enter
- Open globally
Writers from any country may enter, provided they are 18 or older at the submission deadline.
- Any language
Entries may be written in any language. Submit your novel in its original language, exactly as you wrote it.
- Original and unpublished
Submitted work must be your own original fiction, not previously published or under contract elsewhere.
- One entry per author
Each author may submit a single novel per season. Co-authored works are permitted with a designated lead author.
What to submit
- Three chapters
Submit your first three chapters, around 2,000 words each (about 6,000 words total). Your novel does not need to be finished.
- Synopsis
Include a synopsis of up to 500 words describing your novel and where the story is heading.
- Author bio and contact
Provide a short bio (up to 150 words) and a working email address for judge correspondence.
- You retain copyright
Genesis takes no ownership of your work. Winners may optionally accept a Genesis publishing offer separately.
What we cannot consider
- Fan fiction or works using third-party IP without rights
- AI-generated text as the primary draft
- Content that promotes hate, harassment, or real-world harm
- Sexually explicit material involving anyone under 18
- Plagiarised work or material previously published elsewhere
- Translations of works originally written in another language
